Samy Gemayel, the leader of the Lebanese Kataeb Party, called Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday, according to Sama news agency. They spoke about the violent incidents that occurred in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp.

Abbas reaffirmed his support for the army’s and government’s efforts to establish law and order in the nation.

The president emphasized that since Palestinians must return to their homeland in line with international treaties that guarantee their right of return, their stay in Lebanon is only temporary.

He expressed his gratitude for Lebanon’s support of the Palestinian people and their cause at numerous international fora as well as its role in hosting Palestinians.

Since Saturday, nine Palestinians have died as a result of violence between Palestinian groups at the Ain Al-Hilweh camp.
