Iraq launch military attack on Islamic State militants

Iraqi armed forces launched a major attack on Islamic state radical militants in collaboration with Hashd Shaabi paramilitary fighters. Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi said the Hashd Shaabi paramilitary fighters were be at the forefront of the security forces in the upcoming attack.
“The Hashd Shaabi fighters are at the forefront of implementing this offensive alongside their brothers in the army and the other security forces…and we are about to conduct a final offensive to root out IS organization, which is trying to reorganize its remnants,” Al-Kadhimi office stated.
The statement came after the Islamic stare radical’s militants intensified their attacks on the Iraqi security forced as well as civilians off the Sunni areas, since the holy month of Ramadan attacks resulted in the killings of dozens of people and wounding others.
The security infrastructure of the Iraq armed forces have improved since they defeated the Islamic state militants in 2017.  Since then the Islamic state militants in the desert had been caring guerilla attacks against the civilians and military forces.
The Islamic State has renewed its practice of attacking fields during the harvest season. It shows how one more example of how the self-professed religious group targets the most innocent of civilian activities.
The arson attacks during the harvest season significantly adds add extra burden on the security forced from the terrorist groups, as it also implants booby traps after setting fire to the fields, thereby exacerbating the difficulties in fighting the fires.
The latest military operations were launched by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command to track down the Islamic State in a far-reaching swathe of the country, including in the desert of northern Anbar province, southern Nineveh, and western Salahuddin. Iraqi forces also moved against the terrorist group in towns lying on the border between Iraq and Syria, as the Iraqi Security Media Cell reported in a tweeted statement.
