Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in north China’s Tianjin. The two sides reaffirmed their mutual support on issues concerning each other’s core interests.

China is ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and push forward the building of a China-Pakistan community with a shared future, said Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Wang said China will strengthen strategic dialogue with Pakistan, jointly build the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with high quality, deepen cooperation in fields such as agriculture, industry and mining, and plan celebratory events marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

China supports Pakistan in conducting anti-terrorism operations, he said, adding that the Chinese government has always been concerned about the safety of Chinese people in Pakistan, expressing belief that Pakistan will continue to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan.

Dar said Pakistan adheres to the one-China principle and supports China on issues concerning its core interests.

Pakistan fully supports China’s preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tianjin Summit and looks forward to further deepening the all-round cooperation between the two sides, he said, pledging efforts to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and institutions in Pakistan.
