Saudi National Day: Long holiday for workers and students
Saudi citizens and residents will get to enjoy a long weekend this month commemorating the Kingdom’s 94th Saudi National Day holiday.
Marked annually on September 23, the holiday commemorates the unification of the Kingdoms of Najd and Hijaz by King Abdulaziz in 1932.
This year’s occasion will fall on a Monday and with a Friday-Saturday weekend in the Kingdom, some employees will enjoy an extended holiday with Sunday September 22 off as well.
Students, according to the education ministry’s academic calendar, will also be given Sunday September 22 as a day off for the occasion.
The Kingdom’s transformative journey
Various events, performances and airforce shows are expected as citizens and residents take to the streets of the Kingdom to mark the holiday.
Last month the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) unveiled the theme for the occasion.
Carried over from last year, the “We dream, We Achieve” slogan reflects and highlights the transformative journey of the Kingdom and the significant projects it is implementing as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
Some of the projects featured in the design include THE LINE Project, the Sindalah Project and the Electric Car (CEER) Project.
