In a shocking revelation that has sent ripples through diplomatic circles, a leaked confidential letter from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has exposed a sinister plot orchestrated by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman during his visit to Pakistan in February 2019.

The leaked letter, now in possession of several media outlets, details the elaborate plan hatched by the ISI to orchestrate a social media attack targeting Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, popularly known as MbS, during his diplomatic visit to Pakistan. The objective was to create a hostile environment that would undermine the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Key figures implicated in the leaked letter include Murtaza Solangi, the caretaker Minister of Information and Broadcasting in Pakistan at the time. According to sources, Solangi played a central role in targeting the Saudi Crown Prince, referring to him as a “butcher” and squarely holding him responsible for the tragic murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2019. This provocative move not only strained diplomatic relations but also prompted FIA’s Cyber Crime wing to keep a watchful eye on Solangi.

The leaked letter further reveals that the ISI had meticulously planned the offensive against Crown Prince MbS in order to create discord between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The troll army responsible for executing the social media attack was reportedly under the command of Chaudhary Abdul Rauf, the then Additional Director of FIA’s Cyber Crime wing. Rauf allegedly issued orders in line with the ISI’s larger goal of destabilizing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government.

According to sources, the plot to defame Crown Prince MbS and incite public sentiment against him was carried out in real-time coordination with Ayaz Khan, the Deputy Director of FIA Headquarters in Islamabad at that time. The leaked information also suggests a notable lack of respect for the Saudi Crown Prince within certain quarters of Pakistan’s military establishment, with reports indicating a disregard for diplomatic norms.

As the contents of the leaked letter continue to reverberate across international circles, questions are being raised about the implications of such covert operations on diplomatic ties and the credibility of the Pakistani government. The incident sheds light on the complexity of contemporary international relations and underscores the need for transparency and accountability in the conduct of state affairs.
