Sino-Indian relations
PM Modi addressed questions on India-China relations and defined India’s position on China during the interview. While highlighting the need of “normalizing” relations for the benefit of the whole globe, PM Modi also said that “peace and tranquility in the border areas are essential for normal bilateral relations with China.” Only mutual respect, sensitivity, and shared interests can serve as the foundation for the future growth of the India-China relationship.

India will assume a larger position on the global scene.
When asked in the interview whether India might serve as a mediator in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, PM Modi said that his nation’s stance on the issue was “clear and unwavering.” He continued by saying that rather than war, “cooperation and collaboration should define our times.”

At the G7 Summit was India
PM Modi arrived in Hiroshima on May 19 in time for the G7 Summit. India, a member of the G7 since 2003, has been invited to the summit as a guest nation. In his interview, PM Modi also said that he was looking forward to talking about the problems and changes facing the world in regards to supply chains, digital technologies, and energy.
