To commemorate the event of Victory Day on December 16, people of Bangladesh organized various programmes all over Bangladesh and other parts of the world.

A procession where hundreds of people marched with Bangladesh flag was organised from Uttaran Public Library, Bogura on Dec 16. Event started with national anthem. Discussions were held about liberation from Punjabi Army. Theatrical presentation of movie on Liberation war was done followed by Question and Answer session. The organisers stressed for a secular and democratic Bangladesh with slogans of โ€œJoy Banglaโ€. They ridiculed Pakistan army by saying that it did not fight a single war after 1971 and is engaged in proxy war since then especially with Afghanistan. The fraud Pak army does not know how to fight.

Ranpur Mahanagar Chhatra (Student) League organized similar procession to commemorate Victory Day under the banner of Sheikh Russel Memorial Samaj Kalyan Sangstha and Shilpi Goshthi. The programme was presided over by Shahjanur Islam Sourav, Organising Secretary of Chhatra League in Rajshahi Mahanagar.  Similar programme to celebrate Victory Day was organised in Rajshahi also. Highlights of the programme was procession, offering garland , discussion on liberation from Punjabi forces with slogans of Joy Bangla.  These were followed by movies on Liberation War. More tha 500 people participated in the procession. They discussed how the Bengali liberation fighters defeated the Punjabi Army.

Expatriates of Bangladesh organised protest demonstrations on Dec 16 in front of Pakistan Embassy in Washington, USA. They also demanded trial of war criminals.

A Cultural Event was organised by Nandan Sahitya Academy and Shishu Foundation in Rajshahi,  Bangladesh where more than 500 people participated . Crest certificate and flowers were given to 16 Muktijoddhas (Freedom fighters). Venue at Amphitheatre, Rajshahi  was packed with women and Children.
