The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Dr G.N Itoo recently chaired a meeting of concerned officers of the city to review measures for the smooth conduct of 7th Economic Census (EC).
The meeting also took an appraisal of the progress of already covered areas of the district.
On the occasion, various matters pertaining to the conduct of 7th economic census were thoroughly discussed wherein the Itoo deliberated upon the concerned agencies to work in cohesion and cooperation so that the process is executed smoothly.
Highlighting the importance and role of the economic census, the DC directed the concerned officers to create awareness and include it in next block divas and the ongoing Jan Abhiyan programme so that people at the grassroots level are informed.
He also directed the Executive Officers to cooperate in the implementation of the said census in their respective municipalities.
Itoo, who is also the chairman of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) stressed upon the concerned officers to involve Sarpanchs in this process besides directing to establish Aadhar enrollment centres so that all people who were left-out are registered.
He informed that a special drive shall be conducted so that hundred percent registration in Aadhar is achieved.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, SDMs, DSO, Tehsildars, Executive officers among other concerned functionaries.
