At the invitation of TM The King and The Queen, HE The President of The Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, pays a state visit to Denmark the days of 6-7 December 2024.

Egypt is an important strategic partner for the EU and Denmark, including in the area of climate change. Danish-Egyptian ties extend back to 1922, and Denmark and Egypt have also collaborated for a long time with a focus on young people and job creation in Egypt in connection with the Danish-Arab Partnership programme.

In connection with the state visit 6-7 December 2024, Denmark’s relationship to Egypt will be strengthened as part of the government’s Africa strategy, “Africa’s century”. This is based on the desire for equal dialogue and cooperation with a view to strengthening Danish political, diplomatic and commercial engagement in Africa.

During the state visit, The King and The Queen will host The President of Egypt, and a State Banquet will be held at Christiansborg Palace on Friday 6 December in honour of The President, who will be accompanied by Egypt’s foreign minister and minister of investment and foreign trade as well as an Egyptian business delegation during the visit.
