Saudi Arabia’s King Salman is in good health, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman assured on Tuesday after the King underwent medical treatment.

The Crown Prince’s statement came as he headed a Cabinet session. He expressed his appreciation to all those who asked about the King’s health, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

SPA reported on Sunday that King Salman underwent medical examinations upon the request of his medical team due to “high temperature and joint pain.”

It was later reported that the King was going to undergo treatment for a lung inflammation with a therapy program that includes antibiotics.

King Salman, 88, was last admitted to hospital in April. He left the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah hours after a routine checkup, SPA reported at the time.

King Salman, the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, became ruler in 2015.
