Coretrax advances with a multi-year agreement in the Middle East
Coretrax secures multi-year Middle East contract to boost oil production using innovative expandable casing patches and introduces the game-changing Restore Patch
Coretrax has secured a multi-year contract with a major Middle East operator aimed at enhancing production across a multi-well campaign. As the world grapples with growing energy demands, operators are facing unprecedented pressure to maximize hydrocarbon extraction from existing fields. Coretrax, a leading player in the field, is set to deploy its cutting-edge ReLineMNS and ReLineHYD expandable casing patches to effectively isolate trouble zones and increase recovery in the operator’s existing wells.
The project is already in motion, with a dedicated in-country team and regional support from eight Coretrax personnel, providing specialized product expertise to ensure the success of deployments. This contract underscores the rising demand for expandable tubulars to support brownfield optimization in the oil and gas sector.
This announcement coincides with the introduction of Coretrax’s latest tool, the “Restore Patch,” which forms an integral part of their core product line. The Restore Patch is designed to be run across coiled tubing and drill pipes, aiming to restore well integrity and offer a convenient solution to common issues such as water production, completion leaks, and sand ingress.
The system’s innovative shoeless design eliminates the need for a drill-out process, saving valuable rig time with a one-trip solution. Its slim outer diameter allows it to bypass inner diameter restrictions, including sub-surface safety valves. With an impressive 75% expansion ratio, the Restore Patch maximizes production conduit to the surface, providing over 700% more flow area compared to conventional straddles.
By facilitating continuous access to the reservoir below without imposing significant restrictions in the well, this technology allows for greater flexibility in future well operations and abandonment planning.
John Fraser, Chief Executive Officer at Coretrax, emphasized the increasing industry demand for sustainable methods to enhance production in existing fields. He highlighted the company’s technology as a direct response to industry challenges, effectively boosting recovery while eliminating the need for costly and emission-intensive drilling operations.
Fraser stated, “Through the advancement of expandable straddles like our Restore Patch, operators can effectively reline mature or non-producing wells, delivering efficient and economical recovery. Our leading expandable technology is already delivering substantial efficiencies, and we are actively seeking partnerships with conveyance providers to make this solution even more accessible to the global energy industry.”
This significant contract comes on the heels of a period of sustained growth for Coretrax, with the company recently announcing plans for further expansion following several project wins. Over the past twelve months, the headcount at Coretrax has risen by 20%, now boasting a team of 300 professionals dedicated to advancing the industry’s capabilities.
