The Baloch Yakjehti Committee denounces Hidayat Lohar’s murder and draws attention to the ongoing genocide in Balochistan.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of renowned Sindhi political and social activist Hidayat Lohar, linking his death to the ongoing Baloch Genocide. In a statement, the BYC emphasized that the discovery of mass graves has added yet another painful chapter to the saga of Baloch suffering.

The statement issued by the BYC lamented the lack of justice for the victims of the Tutak operation, highlighting that numerous individuals disappeared during the operation, with their fate still unknown. Moreover, the BYC underscored that the state’s practice of conducting operations and enforced disappearances continues unabated in Balochistan, causing immense suffering to the common people.

Pointing to the recent escalation in military operations in Balochistan, the BYC condemned the persistent state violence against Baloch and other oppressed communities within Pakistan. The committee emphasized that Hidayat Lohar’s brutal killing is part of a broader pattern of state-sponsored violence aimed at silencing dissent and suppressing the voices of the oppressed.

The BYC denounced the state’s efforts to intimidate and suppress political activism aimed at advocating for the rights of oppressed peoples. It called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Hidayat Lohar’s murder, urging the state to uphold human rights and ensure justice for all victims of violence.

Furthermore, the BYC demanded an end to the ongoing genocide in Balochistan, calling for an immediate cessation of human rights abuses and the recovery of individuals forcibly arrested during the Tutak operation. The committee stressed that the people of Balochistan deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, urging the state to recognize their inherent humanity and address their grievances through peaceful dialogue and meaningful engagement.
