Mild tremors were detected in Delhi and other NCR towns including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad after an earthquake struck Afghanistan. Along with other northern states, Jammu & Kashmir experienced significant earthquakes. On May 28, at about 11:30 am, Afghanistan was struck by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9. Pakistan and India could also feel the shocks. The earthquake had an effect on Lahore, Jammu, and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, several internet users took to social media to record slight earthquakes in northern Indian states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and the capital Delhi. The earthquakes felt in Delhi are anticipated to have been less powerful than magnitude 3 on the Richter scale.

Strong earthquake vibrations were detected in Pakistan; the earthquake measured 6.3 on the Richter scale; no reports of property damage or fatalities have yet been made.
