In the international exhibition held to mark industrial week in Kabul, the first deputy of the Prime Minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, reiterated the pledge of the Islamic Emirate to provide safety for business people and called for investment in Afghanistan.

“With this aid, Afghanistan cannot be developed. Afghanistan is a country with a large population. We work day and night to serve the people,” he said.

“We hope there will be no problem for the dignity and property of anyone. We are providing security for (business people) and this is our responsibility,” he said.

Speaking at the same exhibition, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations Khalil Rahman Haqqani said security is guaranteed and anyone can invest and aid economic growth.

The acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nooruddin Azizi, said that there is a need to invest in major development projects.

“Today the security is provided and everyone should serve the country within their own field,” he said.

“A lot of programs are underway. More than 100 companies came to bid,” said Abdul Salam, deputy Minister of Public Works.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce called for the production of high-quality commodities in the country.

“We expect the industrial companies to increase the quality of their products,” said Din Mohammad Hanif, acting Minister of Economy.

An official of the Iran embassy, Mohammad Hassan Shirzai, who attended the exhibition, pledged his country is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan.

“We are ready to assist your country to build it and develop it and reach economic independence,” he said.

This comes as business people have repeatedly voiced concerns over existing problems within the banking system.
